An hour glass.

A treasured resource
Everything else evolves
From dusk till dawn

Forward moving
Through a ticking clock
In seconds, minutes & hours
Generations ‘ve traveled by

It waits for no man, nowise
Available but never a friend
Rules are inflexible

Not the same everywhere
Some are ahead, others behind
Man has no stake

We have it not
Either make use or waste it
A game of choice
