Local African boys using a laptop

I am not supposed to craft this poem
but someone said liberia is a scam
where dreams die at the shores of
reality.

We are snoring & bleeding unceasingly
in our own country.

How can I descibe how talents are like wasted years?

In this country we no longer know ourselves.
Our faces gotten different from the tortures

& i don't want to write about violence,
funeral homes are now new children's villages.

Their pictures painting grief in every newspaper.

If you ask me to paint a picture of
liberia,

I would paint one that'll cause you to unlove this country

cause every child is stuck between drowning & surviving
deep & shallow foundations.
